TsunamisA tsunami is a long, high sea wave caused by a earthquake or another disturbance. Also know as a an arrival or occurrence of something in overwhelmed quantities or amounts. Tsunami is a Japanese word with the English translation, "harbor wave." Represented by two characters, the top character, "tsu," means harbor, while the bottom character, "nami," means "wave." In the past, tsunamis were sometimes referred to as "tidal waves" by the general public, and as "seismic sea waves" by the scientific community. A tsunami is a series of large waves generated by an abrupt movement on the ocean floor that can result from an earthquake, an underwater landslide, a volcanic eruption or - very rarely - a large meteorite strike. the ring of fire is a major basin in the pacific ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. In a 40,000 km (25,000 mi) horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous series of oceanic trenches, volcanic arcs, and volcanic belts and/or plate movements. It is related to a tsunami because almost 80 percent of tsunamis are in the radar of the ring of fire. What can people do to prevent loss of people in a tsunami? they can try get an alarm or a censer that tells them a few day before a tsunami so they can get out of that place before it hits. |
